How to use the VCD-db online translator

Getting started
The first thing would be to register for a translation account.
In the registration process you must type in your name and you email address,
it is crucial that you supply a valid email address since your password will be mailed to the
address you supply.  Once you have received your email you can login and start making new translations
or updating existing ones that are uncomplete.

Using the Translator Application
Once you have logged in, you will have the option of updating uncompleted translations or
the options to make a totally new translation with a new language.  To create a brand new
translation you must begin with pressing the "Create new language" button.  That will
open a popup where you must provide the language identifier (for example en_EN) for english,
you must also type in the name of the language (for example English).
If you are in doubt of what language identifier code to use, take a look at the links below for reference,
http://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/manual/html_mono/gettext.html#SEC221 or http://ftp.ics.uci.edu/pub/ietf/http/related/iso639.txt

Once you hit the save button, the popup closes, the parent page reloads and the language type you
just created will be visible.  To start translating hit the "Update" button.
That opens a new window with the translation window.  The Translator web interface is Ajax enabled, which means
that you do not have hit submit to update the translations, instead when a field is un-focused the values in that input field
are automatically submitted to the database and saved,  when a field has been automatically saved, a small icon will appear
to the right of the field to indicate the status of the field.

Using new translations in your VCD-db application
To get a new or an updated translation for you VCD-db setup that was not already included in your VCD-db package,
download the desired language file and place it in the folder "includes/languages/" within your VCD-db setup.
If this is an update of an existing language file there is nothing more you need to do, on the other hand if this is a new
language then open the "Control Panel", select "Languages" and check "Available" on the new language and hit the update button.
Now if you open your VCD-db frontpage you will see the new language has been added to the dropdown list.
